ABA stands for Applied Behavior Analysis. It is a method that teaches children and adults with autism to learn about different behaviors and helps them develop their social and behavioral aptitudes applying a reward schemes along with new strategies. There are different levels of ABA therapist training depending upon the level of education.

Education and Training
Some ABA therapists pursue bachelor's degree in psychology or childhood education whereas others obtain a master's degree in psychology. They can also get certification from Behavior Analyst Certification Board which offers two qualifications. First, Certified Behavior Analyst certification for those who have a master's degree and second is Certified Assistant Behavior Analyst for those who have bachelor's degree.

  • Many big organizations employ ABA Therapists to teach anxiety and pressure management skills. Also they employ them for in-home personal therapy for top personnel's.
  • There are many law enforcement departments who employ ABA Therapists.
  • Many hospitals and clinics often have openings for psychologists and ABA therapists.
  • Schools, social service agencies or consulting firms also employ ABA therapists.

Salary for ABA Therapists
The average salary for ABA therapists ranges from $30000 to $55000 annually depending upon the organization they work for. If they operate private practice, they can decide their own rate but will have to be very competitive to stay in business.
