Answer:

If you are decided to work from home, you mostly need a computer first with printing facility, cabled with fax and phone and internet connection. The speed of internet connection and the specification you want with the machines to be, will set the cost or amount for investment. For some scanner along with DVD driver and writers also require. So it is completely up to you as what specific stuffs you want to equip in your home office.

The whole arrangement for setting a home office or small office will be little time consuming. But the rate given here may vary country to country. If you want to décor the interior with some office looks stuff the cost will rise up according to market price of those stuffs in your country.

Most important issue about the investments you are deciding is marketing your capabilities, identifying your strength, weakness, opportunities and threats. You know your investments will one day depreciated to zero. So other factors as mentioned above really matters to what you respond how.

Set a target first of your workflow generation, check the direct involvements with relevant machines, do a cost analysis, see if your target is fitting and exceeding well the costs in a scheduled time frame. Based on your findings set the budget and from the budget work out what best can be achieved with minimum costs! This is the core of deciding on how much to invest for your home office.
